Powered industrial truck training (PIV)

Powered industrial truck training (PIV)

A lack of training is commonly cited as the cause for incidents involving powered industrial trucks (PIT). OSHA requires that all PIT operators be trained on the general principles of safe truck operation, the types of trucks being used in the workplace and the hazards of the work- place created by the use of the truck prior to becoming a certified operator. This training is required initially and at least once every three years.
